Who We Are

Hey, I’m Jonathan Davila—photographer, educator, and owner of iLA Film Lab & Store in my hometown of Holyoke, Massachusetts. I opened this space in 2021 with a simple goal: to make film photography accessible, hands-on, and welcoming to everyone.

As a proud Puerto Rican and lifelong creative, building this lab in the city I grew up in has been one of my biggest achievements. iLA is more than a lab—it’s a space for photographers, artists, and curious minds to explore analog photography without judgment or gatekeeping.

I’ve been developing and scanning film for years, and I’m currently an adjunct instructor, teaching darkroom printing and film photography at the college level. I’m also wrapping up my degree in education because teaching and sharing this craft means a lot to me. Whether I’m processing your film, running a workshop, or connecting online, my goal is for you to feel supported, inspired, and part of a growing film community.

When I’m not in the lab, I’m either out shooting, relaxing with my wife and our two pups, or chasing new ideas for where this journey could go next.

Thanks for being here. Let’s keep film alive—one roll at a time.
